ORIGIN
There are people who are born into business and some whose passion is business. In 1992, a lecturer working in a reputed university decided to give up his teaching profession and ventured into preparing fresh chips & snacks. He named it “Hot Chips”. The lecturer’s name is R.Vasudevan M.Com M.Phil. (MD, Hot Chips Restaurants Pvt Ltd).
GROWTH
Our first outlet was started at Nungambakkam which has an area of 360 sq ft. Today, Hot Chips has managed to expand and diversify throughout Tamil Nadu with 17 branches and covering an area of over 50000 sq ft. This exponential growth within 17 years has made us one of the leading chain of restaurants in the food industry. Two important factors for this growth are the tireless hard work of our employees and the support given by our beloved customers.
STRATEGY AND GOAL
Our strategy is a simple but powerful one. It is “GOOD QUALITY AT AFFORDABLE PRICE”. This is a tough task taking into account the inflation of food prices and the requirement of good quality labour. There has always been a tradeoff between quality and cost but we try to optimize it as efficiently as possible. The streamlined payment structure is a big asset for our company which has allowed us to have cordial relations with all our suppliers.
It is said that failure teaches one more than success does. We had to close two of our outlets in Washermenpet and Abirami Mall due to several factors. Though it was a bitter experience it has taught us lessons for life and we believe this was a turning point in our journey.
We do not believe in 100% perfection but we do believe in complete professionalism since ours is entirely a labour oriented industry. We want to keep improving and growing in a sustainable manner. Our first goal is to expand to other cities in India without compromising on our strategy. Then we would like to launch our brand globally.
We sincerely thank our customers for their support and suggestions.
